FORMATION
The District was formed in 2016 by Act 292 of the Louisiana Legislature through the work of the Capital Heights Neighborhood Association, responding to requests by residents wanting stronger tools for fighting crime and improving our neighborhood. In December of 2016, an election of the voting residents of Capital Heights funded the district through a 10 year property tax fee. The District began receiving the funds in 2018 and beginning in February 2018 began hiring extra duty patrols by the Baton Rouge Police Department.
