general safety info

Tips provided by the CHCPID Safety Committee

Neighborhood Safety:

We asked Detective Palmer for suggestions on Crime Prevention. “We forget the obvious”, he said. “Locking car doors keeps valuables safe AND petty thieves will not continue to canvas areas that are secured.” As a neighborhood initiative, continue to lock your car doors. Immediately report suspicious activities to 225 389 2000 (emergencies call 911). Crime District private patrols are regularly in the area, improving officer response times.

Law Enforcement and Community Partners:

Capital Heights Crime Prevention and Improvement District has a police patrol budget. Many of the marked or unmarked police cars in our neighborhood are part of this initiative. Some of the same officers regularly patrol and may be familiar. Feel free to speak with these officers and get to know our law enforcement professionals. Their presence is another resource and deterrent to protect our community.
